Helpful Tip Of The Day – Shopping Cart Seatbelts
Another use for them:
I use the seatbelt to secure my purse when I am shopping. I link the seatbelt through my purse strap and lock it in.
Please keep in mind it is still best to stay by your cart and keep an eye on your purse. But, if you happen to be looking at something you won’t have to be as worried. It won’t be easy for someone to snatch your purse as they walk by.
One more thing, keep your zippers and snaps closed with any valuables secured inside. Don’t leave your purse open. Someone can “craftily” take your valuables without you ever knowing it.
Always Be Aware of your Surroundings!

Getting Ready for First Craft Show of the Season
Right now I am downloading the Square Reader on my phone. Should have done this earlier in the week but it wasn’t on my mind.
Trying to get two pre-ordered scarfs done. Both are ribbed. It is an easy knit as far as the pattern but takes quite a bit of time. One is a solid color and the other is variegated. I have been alternating them as to not get bored and to not “kill” my eyesight. The solid one is black! I also need very good lighting to see my stitches.
Tomorrow night we will be getting our inventory and supplies together that we are taking. My mom and I have decided not to take all of our inventory. Some things we are rethinking and others we are revamping for future shows and on-line selling.
Stayed tuned for Craft show dates and times and for new patterns by yours truly!
Helpful Tip of the Day – Old T-Shirts or T-Shirts that may be tattered
Never throw anything out that you can re-purpose…..that is, if you’re going to use it!
I grabbed an old T-Shirt on my way out of the house today to cut it up to use it as a cloth to clean off the screen of my Nook. On my drive into work, I was thinking about the different ways to re-purpose an old T-Shirt.
My White T-Shirt is actually in good condition other than it has a hole the size of a pencil erasure right in the middle of the Torso. Yeah, I wore it around the house. Yeah I wore it in the early morning hours or in the late night hours when I would have to take Brandy, my dog, out to go potty, but today I needed a cleaning cloth. Most T’s are made of cotton and those are the only T’s I would use for cleaning because they normally don’t scratch surfaces. They are great for cleaning off your Tablet screens, your TV and Computer Monitor screens, but they are also great for cleaning your glasses and to use for dusting.
My suggestion for cleaning cloths is to cut them out in squares that are a little bit larger than your hand. This gives you a good grip especially if you are dusting. You won’t get goo on your hand if you use cleaners for dusting.
Another idea for re-purposing T-Shirts is to remake them. You can cut off the arms and add embellishment where the seam is. You can add other types of cloth. In my case where the hole was in the torso area, you can cut off the T and add a piece of fabric of another color or fabric that has a design on it. You can even combine two old T-shirts to make one! In doing this, you might find you like it and have a crafty item to make for yourself, family and friends or make them to sell.
Happy Re-purposing!
Helpful Tip of the Day – Address Labels
I still receive address labels as promotional items from charities that are wanting a contribution. With e-mail, I don’t use snail mail a lot and I don’t like to throw things away. I have found a new way to use my address labels.
I am a collector of books and of magazines. I use the address labels to identify my books whenever I go to crafty events and need to determine what is mine at the end of the day. I have also used them to identify my magazines from my Mom’s. For awhile my Mom and I were getting subscriptions to the same magazines and were fighting over who’s magazine was who’s. I also use the labels in notebooks and journals. I believe I have also used them in CD cases.
So don’t get rid of your labels! There are many other great uses for them!
Lovely Day so far
Sitting outside this morning with my Mom and Brandy. I was trying to get a photo of her looking at me but she wouldn’t cooperate. My Mom even held a piece of bacon up over my head and she looked everywhere but at me. It seems like she knew I was trying to take her picture!
Mom is eating her breakfast. She brought B-Girl out while I was cooking. Brandy wanted to stay out so we took up camp in the back yard. It is a little windy. I don’t know if it is just windy or a storm is brewing up. I’ve been pretty lucky with the weather on my time off.
Monday, Memorial Day, I spent some time hanging out with one of my dear friends, Andrea. She showed me a lot of the neat things she was making and some she had already made. She also showed me some things she had pinned on Pinterest. Pinterest is so addicting!
Tuesday I worked on the yard. I sprayed my crabapple tree and a few bushes and the base of my large pine tree. The bush behind the crabapple and the crabapple have some type of algae or maybe it’s blight. No one could really tell me so I bought something that deals with both. I also sprayed my lawn for weeds. I had Tru-green for a year and then switched to Scott’s because my lawn looked horrible. I had Scott’s for two years and my lawn started looking worse than it ever had with not only the weeds but the moss and algae growing all throughout the lawn.
This is a picture of my trees.
I think I overdid it because I came in the house, got in the shower and immediately felt sick. I had to get out of the shower and lay down for about an hour before I could get back in the shower and get dresses. I was supposed to take my Mom grocery shopping but that didn’t happen. I battled an upset stomach all day.
Today we are going to battle grocery shopping. I want to go before people start getting off of work. I’m not fond of busy, crowded stores and I live on a side of town where a lot of ethnic people live and they take their entire families grocery shopping. I probably wouldn’t even mind if the kids were kept under control but most of the time I get ran into, pushed or everyone stands in the middle of the aisles and no one tries to move even if you say excuse me.
Ok, got that out of my system!
Sitting Outside Enjoying the Weather
I brought Brandy, my doggie daughter, outside this morning to go potty and get some nice refreshing air. It has been so peaceful sitting out here, that my Mom and I decided to eat our breakfast, drink our coffee, knit and work on my blog and FB page out here.
I really wish that I could do more outside because I think I’m being pretty productive! It beats sitting in the house all day. I know when I am on the house I tend to be lazy and watch a lot of TV.
That’s Brandy taking her nap!
